The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Tuesday, received Mr. Ehizogie Iyeomoan, an Edo indigene who emerged winner of the 2021 Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) National Essay Competition, which had over 5,000 entries.
Iyeomoan’s essay titled, “How to Fight Economic and Financial Crimes to Make Nigeria Great,” was selected as the best from the over 5000 entries received by the Commission.
Receiving the national essay winner at the Government House, in Benin City, Obaseki said his government will sustain programmes and reforms to guarantee better opportunities for youths in the state.
The governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha, commended the achievement of Ehizogie Iyeomoan, an indigene of Ewu in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State.
He said, “This is a great achievement for the state as Ehizogie has made us proud as a state and a people. We will continue to transform the education sector and ensure our students get quality education to position them to face the challenges of life.”
Ehizogie, a 500-level Law Students of the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), while presenting the award to the governor, hailed the state government for its sustained investment in education.
He said, “I won the EFCC National Essay Competition with over 5,000 entries. The competition was targeted at ending cybercrime in Nigeria. I am here to present the award officially to the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and to let him know my achievement as an indigene of Edo State.”
