The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has mourned the death of Deacon Osayande Decency Amadasun, a supporter based in The Netherlands.
In a statement, the governor commiserated with family members, friends and associates of late Osayande, who, according to him, stood for everything that was in the public interest.
According to him, “I received with rude shock and disbelief, the sad news of the death of Deacon Osayande Decency Amadasun, an ardent supporter of our administration’s vision to improve the lives of Edo people.
“The late Osayande was a dogged fighter and a firm believer in our government’s struggle to engender people-oriented governance that would benefit the majority of our people. His demise is coming at a time when democracy in our state and country is under serious threat and he will be greatly missed.”
“I express my sympathy and the condolences of the Government to his family and associates and pray that Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest,” the governor added.
