The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Monday, August 29, 2022, received the new Commander of 4 Brigade, Brigadier General DH Ndahi in Government House, Benin City, and assured sustained partnership with the military and other arms of the security system existing in the State.
Welcoming Ndahi to the State, Obaseki said: “I want to assure you that you are at home, and you are my neighbor; the next door to us, and that you should just see yourself as one of us. You come from a very distinguished background. My expectation is that you are the one that will be disturbing us. For the rest of the team, like I said, we see them as part of us.”
The Governor further said that his administration has established a robust relationship with the military and urged the new Commander to build on his predecessor’s achievements.
He maintained that the State government has the political will and would not relent in the fight against criminals, and advised the new commander to work closely with his Chief of Staff, Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha, to bring him to speed with regard to the security system in the State.
Obaseki, however, tasked the Brigade Commander on the criminal activities in parts of the waterways, within the State, adding that the urban renewal projects on the Ekehuan Road corridor would make the Command’s job easier.
Earlier, Brig. Gen. Ndahi said he was at the Government House to pay homage to the Governor and expressed his appreciation to the state government’s support for his predecessors.
“My predecessor told me about the support you gave him, I will continue from where he stopped,” he said, and expressed his desire for similar support from the State Government.
