The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki will, tomorrow, Friday, February 3, 2023, perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the development of an Education Hub in Edo State.
The ceremony will take place at the premises of the Ministry of Education, Iyaro, Benin City, Edo State.
The hub will house the Ministry of Education and its parastatals – the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB); the State Secondary Education Board (SSEB); the Board of Technical, Vocational Education and Training (BTVET); and the Library Board.
The Education Hub will also host facilities like the Directorate of Quality Assurance; the Directorate of Higher Education; the Basic school (Primary and Junior Secondary); Conference Centre; the Primary Health Centre (PHC); Sporting faculty for pupils; amongst others.
Having stated that he wants to be remembered as the Governor who revolutionised education in Edo, this epoch-making event is another milestone for the Obaseki administration as it heralds the establishment of the first basic school in Ward Six of Oredo Local Government Area in Edo State. It is worthy of note that the basic school will be a world class model school.
Many innovations and reforms have been pioneered by the Obaseki government across all sectors of Edo State, aligned with the Edo State 30-year Development Plan, the Hub will take the State closer to its ambition of becoming a first-world city in Africa.
