The revamped Edo State College of Health Sciences and Technology is set to kick off academic activities on September 9, 2024.
Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, made this known during an inspection visit to the school on Monday August 9, 2024, in Benin City.
Addressing newsmen, Obaseki remarked: “The Computer Based Test (CBT) for admission into this school will take place later this month, and they are working very hard to make sure that classes resume here on September 9.
“I have been assured that the critical buildings required for the school to start are ready. The laboratories are ready and have been fitted, and may just require a bit of clean up. The hostels are also ready for about 400 students. So, I have been given the assurance. I have no reason to disbelieve them that this place will be ready for school to start on the 9th of September.”
On his part, the Provost of the College, Dr. Moyo Kasim, was optimistic about the commencement of academic activities at the health college.
He said: “We went through the accreditation process about a couple of weeks ago, and I can assure you that before the end of next week or so, we will receive our official letter. All our programmes here are going to be accredited before lectures start September 9.”
