Screening, revalidation exercise only for state pensioners – Edo govt

The Edo State Government has said the screening and revalidation exercise for pensioners in the state, scheduled to take place between Wednesday, 2nd December and Saturday, 12th December, 2020, is for only pensioners who are retirees from the Edo State Government.

Permanent Secretary/Chairman Edo State Pensions Bureau, Mr. Saylor Juwobor, in a statement, said the exercise will not affect the local government pensioners.

Juwobor emphasized that the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration remains resolute and committed to the welfare of pensioners and will continue to acknowledge their service to the state.

According to him, “The screening and revalidation exercise for pensioners in the state, scheduled to commence from Wednesday, 2nd December to Saturday, 12th December, 2020, is for only state pensioners.

“Though the screening is taking place across all 18 local government areas, the exercise is only for pensioners who are retirees from the Edo State Government.”

Juwobor had on Monday announced the commencement of the revalidation exercise for pensioners in the 18 Local Governments Areas (LGAs) of the state, in furtherance of the Obaseki-led administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners in the state.

He noted that the exercise tagged “AM ALIVE” Screening/Revalidation Exercise for State Pensioners offers an option for Skype verification for pensioners who are resident outside the country, directing “all pensioners in the state to be physically present at the venues for the screening with their letters of Approval to Retire from Service and the pensioner’s Biometric Verification Slip.”
