STATEMENT ON EDO INDIGENE IN GERMANY REQUESTING FOR DNA RESULT FROM POLICE

We have seen the video making the rounds on social media, wherein a distressed Edo indigene, Mr. Matthew Omoregie, who lives abroad, raised alarm that the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Police Command, is withholding his DNA result. We are particularly concerned about the fears he expressed on the impact of this case on his family and his means of livelihood.

The Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki mandated his Chief of Staff, Mr. Osaigbovo Iyoha to engage with the Police Command on the matter, which led to the explanations by the Police on why they are unable to release the said document to the individual.

Having been briefed by the Police on the procedure for obtaining the document, we want to work closely with him to enable him get the document and clear his name.

The Office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor is making effort to establish contact with him and help him meet the requirement of the Police in order to get a copy of the DNA result.
