There are various ways to make this holiday worthwhile, and one of which is to plan for a family trip/outing in a beautiful and serene environment.
With the numerous tourist and recreational sites that Edo State is blessed with, it would offer visitors a delightful experience.
Make the most of this season, spend time in Edo and explore the gift of nature that the State is endowed with and the rich cultural heritage. One gets to appreciate the culture of the people by immersing oneself in a new culture. The feeling is indescribable!
There is no denying that these great people are very hospitable and one can never have enough of the scrumptious delicacies.
The amiable Governor, Godwin Obaseki is very much committed to protecting the lives and properties of residents, collaborating with the local vigilante and other security agencies to boost security in the State.
Hence, there is no cause for alarm as Edo is very safe for all. Interestingly, people can freely navigate at night as the light up Edo project has brought back night life and has made life much easier especially at night.
A lot of tourist centers abound in the State, each with its uniqueness and historical significance. The Ogba Zoo and Nature Park is one of the great tourist attractions and it provides opportunities for picnics, a playground for children and forest trail as well as recreation centre.
There are so many attractions at the zoo that make one not want to leave when on a visit. The various facilities, service and management strategies include charging of entrance fee, of course it is cheap and very affordable for everyone so it would never be a constraint; provision of a guided tour, horse rides and “snap on the horse”, environmental education through various posters on the wall, a large car park and public conveniences.
Similarly, the popular Igun Street is another attractive site that is globally known as the home of Benin’s best craft makers and bronze casters.
Somorika hills are features amongst other rocks that are as high as 1700 feet and one of such is a big rock that has a human shaped rock on top of it. It is a very good relaxation and vacation place for your loved ones.
The Ososo tourist site is a beautiful place for nature enthusiasts, mountain climbers and also a good location for picnics. The Gelegele Historical Port, Sokponba Resort, Okomu National Park are some sites that would leave enduring memories in the minds of visitors and tourists.
Basically, Edo State is an ideal place for family, friends and loved ones to have a great time this holiday season. All you need to do is to come along with a camera to take very beautiful pictures; you certainly would love it here. A visit would convince you, trust me!!
