Vote Asue to Sustain Legacies of Obaseki’s Government – Abubakar

The Edo State Commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Zubairu Dada Abubakar, has assured youths in the State of continued human and capital development akin to the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration, when they vote for Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Barrister Osarodion Ogie in the forthcoming Edo State gubernatorial elections, scheduled for September 21, 2024.

Abubakar gave the assurance during a meeting in his office in Benin City, with representatives of youth organizations from the 18 local government areas of the State. He said there is no doubt about the capacity and character of Dr. Asue, which has made him the most accepted candidate in the Edo governorship race.

“We want you to continue to support Governor Godwin Obaseki to finish well and strong and as you know, part of finishing well and strong is to produce a worthy successor. I therefore urge the youths to give Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie (Esq.) massive support to win the September 21st Election to continue the good work of the Governor in Making Edo State Greater,” he noted.

The Special Adviser on Youth Affairs to the Governor, Hon Shedrach Udugbai, who maintained that the State Government has given youths in the State a listening ear, said it is only Dr. Asue Ighodalo that can sustain the interest of youths in the State.

He urged members of the various youth interest groups to come out and vote for Asue Ighodalo who is taking the lead in terms of competency, as he is in the best position to deliver the dividends of democracy to them.

The youths who represented various interest groups, and the coordinators of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in the 18 LGAs in the State, avowed that it is the collective responsibility of youths in the State to support Asue Ighodalo in order to sustain the good works of Governor Obaseki.

The Chairman of NYCN, Comrade Moses Agwinede, disclosed that Governor Obaseki has provided consistent support to the youths in the State and that there is need for youths to give him support.

He said: “This meeting is on why we should give support to the Governor because we are determined to finish well and strong with the Governor. Today, the Governor has provided free Wi-Fi at the Youth House and the provision of uninterrupted electricity from Ossiomo power plant is ninety percent completed.

“The State Government allocated N2billion for the completion of the second phase of the Youth House and N3 million monthly subvention to the Youth Council to run its affairs. The Governor has also approved plans on how the local government arm of the Youth Council will be funded.”

The Chairman, Forum of Local Government Coordinators, NYCN, Comrade Aigbovbiosa Asenoguan, said that the Youths have enjoyed massive support from Governor Obaseki. “We want to ensure that there is continuity with Asue Ighodalo. It is during the tenure of Governor Obaseki that the youths have received massive and tremendous support from Government. We will ensure there is continuity with Asue Ighodalo because he is the most accepted, character-wise, and that is what we have decided”, he said.
