The Edo State Government, through its skills development agency, EdoJobs has commenced the 11th edition of the three (3) months paid internship program for youth in rural communities.

This phase of the Edojobs Internship and apprenticeship scheme is in collaboration with the Skills Development for Youth Employment – SKYE implemented by GIZ, Promoting need-based Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and youth employment in Nigeria.

Since its inception in 2018, the program has impacted over 2000 Edo youth with a track record of 70% retention rate. According to her, the agency will continue to provide these opportunities so youth in the state can get the
opportunity to compete favourably in the workforce.

The program captured qualified candidates, who have little or no experience in the corporate world, the opportunity to work within the organization for a duration of three months to gain valuable work skills and experience spread across various rural Communities in Edo North and Edo Central senatorial zones to ensure an even spread across the state as previous streams focused on Edo South.
