The Chairman, Esan Central Local Government Area, Hon. Paul Iyoha has assured members of staff of the council of his administration’s commitment to providing them with conducive working conditions for effective delivery of their services.
The Chairman gave this assurance recently at the Council’s Secretariat in Irrua during an official inspection tour of the Local Government Council offices and facilities to ascertain the condition of things.
Addressing staff of the council after the inspection tour, Hon. Paul Iyoha who expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of facilities and offices at the council assured them that in line with Governor Obaseki’s institutional reforms of ensuring a motivated workforce, his administration will swing into action in providing them with a conducive working environment.
Hon. Iyoha said, “today, we decided to go round the secretariat and see for ourselves what we have on ground to enable us know the next step to take. To some extent, what we have seen here is not encouraging. The offices are not conducive and we have cases where so many workers try to manage and squeeze themselves into small rooms.
“When workers have a conducive working environment, they will be excited to leave their homes and go to work. But in situation where the offices are not conducive, coming to work can become a challenge”.
Appreciating the workers for their effort and resolute to deliver despite the challenges faced, Hon Paul Iyoha assured them that the secretariat will put on a new look and good, conducive offices and environment provided for them to enable them perform their duties even better.
According to him, producing a work force that is highly motivated is sacrosanct and at the core of his administration’s policy and having a conducive working environment is one of the steps to achieving that.
Hon Paul Iyoha said, “Having a conducive environment to work is crucial to effective service delivery. So, by the special grace of God, I will do my best to make sure I give you a conducive environment to work. We will switch to action as soon as possible to bring this to reality.
In her response, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Esan Central Local Government Area, Mrs Okhiku Osavieve thanked the Chairman for his resolve to renovate and fix their offices and assured him of the staff’s loyalty and commitment to working together with him to ensure a smooth and cooperating administration.
Present in the inspection tour with the Executive Chairman was the Vice- Chairman of the Local Government Council, Hon. Nicholas Selo Ojeme, elected legislative members, the HOLGA, Mrs okikhu Osavieve, Directors among others
