The Edo State Waste Management Board, led by its Managing Director, Mr. Lucky Enehita-Inegbenehi, has carried out an inspection of the Global Vision International (GVI) facility, located at 56, Ewa Road, Ikpoba Slope, Benin City.
Mr. Enehita-Inegbenehi disclosed that the purpose of the visit was to assess the Company’s waste management system and classify the facility under the supervision of the Board’s Commercial Department, headed by Mr. Martin Akhigbe.
During the inspection, Mr. Enehita-Inegbenehi praised GVI for its commitment to maintaining a clean environment and adhering to the Edo State Waste Disposal Regulations. He emphasized the importance of sustainable waste management by corporate organizations in achieving the State’s vision for a cleaner and healthier society.
He stated, “We are here to ensure that your waste management practices meet the State standards. This evaluation will also determine the appropriate category for your facility to receive effective waste collection and supervision services”.
Mr. Akhigbe, outlined the criteria for categorizing facilities to include analyzing the type and volume of waste generated. He assured the GVI Team of the Board’s full support in maintaining compliance and fostering efficiency in waste management practices.
The CEO of GVI, Prince Dr. Omon Ebosele, welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation for the Board’s proactive engagement. He reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to collaborating with the State in promoting environmentally friendly practices.
Mr. Ahkhigbe guided that the inspection forms part of the Edo State Waste Management Board’s ongoing drive to enhance waste management practices across corporate and industrial sectors, in conformity with the State’s broader environmental sustainability goals.
